Sunset at The Old RadioShack Campus
Eight or nine years ago, I would have just called this the NEW RadioShack Campus. But now, the campus belongs to Tarrant County College. I guess that “new office curse” happens in corporate America just like it does in the Advertising community. Successful ad agencies should NEVER buy their own buildings. I’ve known and even worked at ad agencies that have lost their shirts due to the bad luck that happens after they purchase a new building. They lose clients and usually have to sell out at pennies on the dollar just to survive. So, I think this kinda happened to RadioShack. Soon after moving into the stunning campus, the bottom sorta dropped out of RadioShacks bottom line. They had to hire a new CEO, who immediately hacked jobs right and left and found a buyer for most of the campus. Lucky deal for the Tarrant County College Board. Took very little money to retrofit the new buildings into classrooms. I guess the new building curse turned into a new building blessing for our local community college.
